Aldos Kennel will be following the lead our European friends and NOT dock tails on any of our litters. Not docking is now part of the breed standard of the Hungarian Wirehaired Vizsla.
There are behavioral concerns with tail docking.
Here’s something else to think about. Dogs use their tails to communicate with each other, and we are only beginning to understand just how nuanced that communication can be. People oftentimes make the mistake of thinking that a wagging tail simply indicates that a dog has a friendly demeanor. It certainly can mean that, but tail wags can also essentially mean the opposite.
Researchers in Italy have been looking into exactly how a dog wags its tail under different circumstances and how dogs react when they see different types of tail wagging. The results reveal just how important a communication tool a dog’s tail might be.
Hungarian Wirehaired Vizslas have glorious tails!
Intelligence. Temperament. Strong Work Ethic. Trainability. Conformation. Health.
Those are the basis of Aldos Kennel. It takes all of those traits to make a top quality Hungarian Wirehaired Vizsla We don't breed very often, because it is only from the dogs that have all of those qualities that we would make a breeding.
We strive to make breedings that will improve this breed, according to our own high standards. We want the perfect performance dog who is also the best "companion", family dog. We want it all. No dog is perfect, we believe in continuous improvement, and choose to pursue that through limited, carefully planned breedings from dogs of the highest quality.
This is why Aldos puppies are guaranteed to have a strong work ethic, have good temperaments, and be free from hip displaysia.
